Character Status

At the bottom left part of your screen, you will find the status of your character. The details you will see there are as follows:

LV: The current Level you are at
HP: The number of Hit Points you have
MP: The number of Mana Points you have
EXP: The number of Experience points you have

Inventory Options

There are several inventory options which can be used. The lists are as follows:

Item Inventory: This is classified into Equipment, Use, Set Up, Etc and Pet. Your total accumulated amount of mesos will also be displayed at the bottom of the inventory screen.

Equipment Inventory: This will display all the equipment that your character has.

Skill Inventory: This displays the skills that your character possesses. The skills can be placed in the quick slots.

Notification Options

To alert you when another player wants to communicate with you, the following are the things you need to know:

Red Dot: Tells you when your friend is on-line.

Blue Dot: Tells you when a person wants to befriend you. He may also want to chat or trade with you. (Strike “o” to accept and “x” to decline)

3 Colored Squares: Notifies you when another player has added you in the game while you were off-line.

Menu Options

You will find the following items in the menu options:

Mini Map: You can minimize or maximize your Mini Map or bring the World Map up on the screen. This will also tell you the current location you are in.

Key Setting: This will bring up the Key Setting menu where you can change the keyboard selection.

Quick Slot: This will bring up a Quick Slot screen which will allow you to select the skills you want to place on your hot keys.

Cash Shop: The Cash Shop is a place where you can buy clothes, accessories, messenger items, hair salon coupons, pets and other items.

Menu: This will bring up a selection screen where you can find the following options:
Change Channel: Use this to go another channel.
Game Option: This will change the different game options.
System Options: This will change the system options of the game.
Quit Game: You will exit the game and return to the main MapleStory menu.

Short Cut: This will bring up a selection screen where you can choose from the following:
Item: This will bring up the Equipment inventory screen.
Equipment: This will bring up the Item inventory screen.
Character Status: This will bring up the Status screen.
Skills: This will bring up the Skill inventory screen.
Party: This will bring up the Buddy / Party screen.
Quest: This will bring up the Quest screen.
Messenger: This will bring up the Messenger screen.

Messenger Options

Message Box: Just like an mIRC, it is where you can view what the other players are typing to one another. You can also use this to get some game tips and notices. Through this feature, you can easily talk to the other players. When you do, you will see a speech bubble in the game. Pressing the R button in the game will bring up the Buddy / Party screen list where you can add or chat with the other players just like you would do in MSN or ICQ. The maximum number of players you can add to your buddy list is twenty.
