MS MapleStory Zones

ZONES

The world of MapleStory consists of Maple Island, Victoria Island and Ossyria. The following will give you a description of the islands and the towns and villages that each is comprised of:

Maple Island

(IMAGE: MAPS>"MAPLE ISLAND") Maple Island is the very first place in the game where everyone will begin their journey as a beginner. It is where new players can start to learn the game and use the basic skills of their characters. The place consists of small towns made up of houses and shops and inhabited by monsters that randomly and constantly appear in the game. There are three towns that make up the island, these are the “Mushroom Town”, a town with quests that will require players to perform simple tasks while learning the basics of jumping and attacking; “Amherst”, another small town where one will find an armory and shop for potions; and “South Perry”, otherwise known as the harbor town, where you will board a ship to get to Victoria Island. It is recommended to stay at Maple Island until one has reached level 8 for would-be-Magicians and level 10 for the other classes.

Victoria Island

(IMAGE: MAPS>"VICTORIA ISLAND") Another main location in the game is Victoria Island which is much bigger than Maple Island. This contains the towns of “Lith Harbor” -- the entrance to Victoria Island; “Henesys”, the village of the bowmen and located on a prairie in the south; “Ellinia”, the village of the magicians located in the deep forests of the east; “Perion”, the village of the warriors located in the highlands up north; “Kerning City”, the village of the thieves, a modern city located in the west; and sleepywood, a town with a path leading deeper into the dungeons. All of these have shops that sell all kinds of potions, weapons and armor. Most of the towns have quests that can be completed for a reward.

At the center of the island, you will find “The World Tree”, a mystical tree which provides life to the monsters on Victoria Island. It is made up of numerous horrifying levels of dungeons inhabited by dangerous monsters.

Also in Victoria Island, you will find:

* Perion Castle/Guild Quest

Perion Castle is an area near Perion with a guild quest -- a quest that is only given to guilds and must be completed within one hour. This is currently available to MapleStory Korea only.

* Peach Blossom Island (Part of Victoria Island)

This town is currently available only in the MapleStory versions of SEA, China and Taiwan. In here, you will find a temple where happy couples can get married. It is not surprising that the temple is decorated with Chinese traditional ornaments, a feature that very much “adapts” to the China and Taiwan versions.

Ossyria

(IMAGE: MAPS>"ORBIS") The island of Ossyria is composed of the towns of “Orbis”, “El Nath” and “Aqua Road”. Probably because it is difficult to make one, owing to the fact that this island is in 3-D, it has yet to have a world map. In order to reach this island, you must board a flying ship from Ellinia and depending on the game version and the current level of the player, the trip will cost anywhere from 3,000 to 80,000 mesos. The ship departs every 30 minutes in the Thai version and 15 minutes in the other versions.

The ship docks at Orbis, a floating city in the sky where Fairies live. Monsters such as Pixies, Cellions, Lioners, Grupins, and Nependeaths can be found there. Within the city, there is a Tower used as a guild building where players can band together to form a guild. This is also known as the Orbis Tower. (IMAGE: MAPS>"EL NATH")

(IMAGE: MAPS>"ORBIS TOWER") The snowy town of El Nath can be reached by going through the 20 floors of Orbis Tower. Be prepared, however, to encounter monsters such as Sentinels, Leatties, and Jr. Pepes. The roads in El Nath are very slippery which cause players to slide around. Using snowshoes, which are readily available for sale in one of the shops, can best remedy this problem.

Beyond El Nath, there is a dungeon teeming with powerful monsters. This dungeon is accessible only to characters in level 50 and above. Inside it, players can find Dark Yetis, Werewolves, Lycanthropes, Zombies, Flyeyes, Cerebes, and Bains. Past all these monsters is a shrine in which the most powerful monster of all, Zakum, can be encountered.

A relatively new town, Aqua Road (coming soon to Taiwan version and currently not available in the Global version) is an underwater world located beneath Orbis Tower. In this town, you must control and maneuver your characters as if they are swimming. Falling is much slower, and it is possible to jump again during a jump. Within it is a shop with weapons and armor which are sold at half the NPC price of what El Nath and Orbis sell. (IMAGE: MAPS>"AQUA ROAD")

Still part of Ossyria is

* Ludibrium Island {Ludibrium and Omega Sector}

(IMAGE: MAPS>"LUDIBRIUM") “Ludibrium” is a toy-themed town which contains maps and training grounds such as the Toy Factory, the Time Trail, the Cloud Terrace, the Sky Terrace, Terrace Hall (and also East Eos Tower which is currently released only in the Korean version). In Ludibrium, the castle monsters are not very strong. However, some of the strongest monsters in the game can be found deeper into the Forgotten Path of Time and Warped Path of Time. To reach Ludibrium, players must ride a flying train from Orbis Station where a ticket will cost somewhere between 2,000 and 10,000 mesos. The train departs every 10 or 15 minutes, but travelers must arrive in the waiting room of the train 1 minute before departure time, shown at the dock. Unlike the flying ship from Ellinia to Orbis, no monsters will appear during the trip to attack players.

Another town in this area of Ossyria is “Omega Sector”. Similar to Orbis, it is possible to reach Omega Sector by going down a 101-story high tower in Ludibrium called the West Eos Tower where there are also many quests. An example of which is the "The Lost Guard", whereby players who successfully complete this quest will receive 20 West Eos Tower scrolls, three of which are needed to fully descend / ascend the West Eos Tower. Also, in this part of the Ludibrium Island, the quests are given by Mesorangers – the Power Rangers version of MapleStory and the enemies encountered here are aliens with dual species.

* Fairy Tale Village [Fairy Tale Village / Downtown]

Fairy Tale Village is a new locale in the Korean version of MapleStory having a mythical setting based on Korean fairy tales. There are two ways to get to Fairy Tale Village, One is through teleporting by reading a time-travel book at the end of Aqua Road. Another is by going down the East Eos Tower in Ludibrium to use the time-travel book in that location. Fairy Tale Village is currently not available in Global, SEA and Thailand versions.
